MOMENTS AFTER a mod-device that liberates the Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) so it can run any operating system was banned by an Australian court, the secret was open sourced and made even more portable.
The net result is that it is now possible to jailbreak your PS3 using a tethered smartphone.
Hacker Kakaroto adapted the same jailbreak to the Nokia N900, and then his mates in the open source community ported it to the Palm Pre.
According to Electronista, there are plans to release it for the iPhone too.
